15 September 2008
National Preparedness Month - we reviewed the briefing from National as
part of the Ready Campaign: 1.Get a kit 2.Make a plan 3.Be informed 4.Get involved.

Up date on "Triangle of Life": Red Cross comments on this safety issue was negative only in that here in the US we have better building codes than 3rd world countries, so not all the 'facts' apply to us. Red Cross stressed that much of the injuries from earthquakes happen when people are rushing to get out of a building, and are injured by glass or falling furniture, etc. Red Cross stand by the Duck (get down in a safe spot), Cover (protect your head), and Hold(wait it out). Much of the Triangle of Life directions fit into that.
15 cadets 4 visitors and 13 Senior officers were present.
